FREEDOM CALLING NORTH COUNTY
Freedom Calling's North County Chapter is a diverse group of compassionate volunteers concerned about the realities of human trafficking in the communities of North San Luis Obispo County. We are committed to countering this evil through education and community engagement while working to help restore victims to a life of hope.
Awareness & Education
We are committed to bringing education and awareness to North County communities because we believe that knowledge is power.
We raise awareness through free documentary films, educational presentations, prevention workshops, and professional trainings/workshops.
We are working to equip our community to know the signs of trafficking and enable them to respond by reporting suspicious activity.
Survivor support
Opportunities to support survivors as they heal range from providing necessities such as gas cards or diapers to transportation or help filling out forms.
Trained volunteers can also serve as mentors and help with case management.
We have an urgent need for
bi-lingual volunteers.
Community engagement
We are proud to represent the North County on the District Attorney's Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force which regularly brings together county agencies and non-profits in an effort to eradicate trafficking in our communities through collaboration.
We also partner with California Rural Legal Assistance to expose labor trafficking issues in our agriculturally dense region of SLO County and connect victims to legal professionals and advocates who offer help and hope.
Finally, we connect our communities with available resources and opportunities to get involved on the local, state, and national levels.
